First EP2DM Train with Type-C Charging Ports for Gadgets

Made by Transtelesoft!

The first EP2DM train with Type-C charging ports for gadgets has started running on MCD-4; the units also include classic USB ports, the Central PPK press service reports. Three more electric trains with Type-C ports are undergoing commissioning and will start running on the line soon. A charging outlet on board is a necessity in today's world — almost every passenger carries a smartphone that needs regular charging. Each 11-car train will have 604 Type-C ports, placed under the passenger seats: 32 in each end car and 60 in each intermediate car. Now, charging a laptop or a tablet during a long journey is part of the everyday-available service offered by Russian carriers.

"We design new trains with passengers' wishes in mind. EP2DM-series trains have been running since the fourth diameter launched, and in May the 'Ivolga 4.0' trains started running here as well. We continue to renew the rolling stock on the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, and we plan to fully complete this on MCD-4 by the end of 2025," noted Maxim Liksutov.
